5 touching things you MUST do this Mothers’ Day
It is that time of the year again and you are running out of ideas on what to do. Do not worry as we have put together some ideas for you, none of which burns a hole in your pocket.
1. Cook her a meal
Fret not if the only kitchen experience you have is tasting food (I am on the same boat). With the onset of ready-to-cook meals and simple meal recipes online, cooking a decent meal has become much easier. Even if it does not meet Gordon Ramsay’s standard, it would definitely bypass your mum’s, making her one proud mama.
2. Make her a photo banner
Let her take a trip down memory lane by printing out photos of you (and your siblings) when all of you were cute and cuddly, all the way till how you are today, cute but probably not as cuddly. Do also remember to include photos of her with you guys as well. Hang these photos up on a wire against a wall in her room and let it be the first thing she sees in the morning. Be prepared for a great deal of emotions so do keep a couple of tissues on hand.
3. Write her a letter and attach it to this lovable teddy bear
Remember those good old days when people wrote letters to each other? It is about time we bring it back. Letters have a personal touch to them and are more meaningful since they are handwritten. Write a letter to thank your mother for all that she has done for you and present it to your mum together with The Noteway’s “Hug Me” teddy bears. This will bring your mum more tears of joy than a branded necklace, we assure you.
4. Bring her for a massage
This works for all mothers; young, old, housewives, working and even for the most skeptical ones. All mothers deserve a good massage after the tension they get from work and/or from well, us. And trust me when I say that they will love it. After all, what is a better way to relax than to have all the tension taken out of you while in a comfortable position? There are a number of amazing massage parlours out there, some of which have mothers’ day promotions. Check them out here: http://www.tripzilla.com/spa-places-singapore-mothers-day/20500
5. Get her a new outfit
Nobody knows our mum’s taste better than we do. Regardless of whether it is a saree, a tank top or a dress, get her something that would make heads turn in her own unique style. Not to mention, an outfit bought for her by her children would be one that she would be happy wearing and who knows, it might become her new favourite ensemble. So there you go! It is up to you whether you want to do just one of the ideas above or all. Either way, you are guaranteed to warm your mother’s hearts. On behalf of The Noteway, I would like to wish all mothers a Happy Mothers’ Day and I hope it will be a great day for all of you 🙂
